Open Gardens is where I think in public about how media is reorganizing around creators, communities, and ownership.
It started as writing. Over time, some readers began asking a different question.
Not “what do you think?” but “can you help us apply this?”
When it makes sense, we do.
This work is not separate from Open Gardens. It is the same thinking, pressure-tested inside real organizations.
What we help with
We work with teams navigating moments of structural change, including:
• Media companies rethinking their relationship to creators
• Creators building businesses beyond content
• Brands exploring community-led content strategies
• Investors trying to understand where leverage is shifting
The questions tend to look like this:
• How do we move from IP ownership to community ownership?
• What does a creator-first deal structure actually look like?
• Where should content, community, and commerce intersect for us?
• How do we modernize without breaking what already works?
We focus on first principles, structure, and long-term leverage. Not tactics.
What this is not
This is not:
• Growth hacking or short-term audience arbitrage
• One-off social media strategy
• Trend chasing or slide decks with no operating follow-through
If the goal is speed without direction, this will not be a fit.
How we work
Engagements are small, focused, and senior-level.
The work draws from operating experience across film, television, digital studios, creator-led ventures, and platform partnerships in the U.S. and Latin America.
We only take on work where the thinking aligns and where we can stay close to the problem.
