Great write up. I've been saying, "Remember the Transmedia craze of the 2010's"? It was manual, clumsy, expensive and rarely yielded the results it was aiming for, but the idea had legs and films were only one tendril of the entire web. I think storytelling, technology, new understandings of how audiences find content will be fascinating to watch.
I agree. Have you seen their new consumer facing stuff? They're selling a "Movie Log", kind of like a journal to track what films you've watched and what your thoughts were on it. It's like $7, sits on your coffee table in a cool way. They are literally productizing and monetizing their own minimalist vibe back to moviegoers. Brilliant!

I love it! No, I haven’t seen that yet, but I also loved the idea of asking moviegoers to dress up as wedding guests for The Drama.
Really smart/true, ahead of its time piece Ben. Great analysis/breakdown of what has changed, and changed fast.
They do everything BUT movie marketing, which is why it works so well. Great breakdown
Thx anatasia. Where do you work as a marketer?
